Should our wedding be filmed in standard tv mode or widescreen?

I highly recommend getting your wedding filmed in widescreen because even if you don't own a widescreen TV now, you will in the future. If you choose a good videographer then your video should be timeless. Shouldn't it also be future proof?

How much are extra copies?

We keep master copies of your DVD production for one year for the purpose of ordering extras, so you don’t need to decide right away how many (if any) extras you would like to purchase. Extras copies are priced at $30.00 each (which includes P&H within Australia).

How long will it take to receive our wedding dvd?

Under contract we say your DVD package will be ready within 3 months of your wedding day or from the date when total payment and all materials necessary for creating your DVD are received. It is usually faster than this; we just allow this much time for periods of heavier workloads. On average it takes around 6 - 8 weeks.

Can I play the DVD on any DVD player?

The format in which all our DVD's are made is in DVD-Video format and is recorded on DVD-R discs which are compatible with almost all DVD players and has shown to be the best format to use. We can create your DVD in other formats though if requested, such as DVD+R, DVD-RW etc etc.

Will the chapter points in our wedding video be placed at regular intervals or will they match events in our movie?

Chapter points are always placed at appropriate places within your wedding video, for example, at each separate event such as arrival at the church, the ceremony, the vows, etc etc, so it is easy to go straight to what you want to see without having to search for it.

What will the personalised DVD menus look like?

The menus on our DVDs look and function similar to DVDs you buy from the store. The background of your menu can be any photograph or video clip from your wedding day. Our menus also feature titles, appropriate music and stylish "Play" and "Chapter" buttons. The chapter menus also feature the above as well as having all your chapters laid out in chronological order as full motion video clips. Wow!

What payment methods do you accept?

Direct bank deposit (preferred), cash, cheques, money orders, credit cards and paypal

What if it rains on our wedding day, will you still film?

We will accommodate most weather conditions. However, where excessive rain could damage camera and sound equipment, certain exterior shots may be compromised or impossible for which we cannot be held responsible. It's usually only the photo shoot where you will be outside and there are a number of under cover places you can go to to get your photos done and to keep dry!

What do we have to do to book?

We are happy to accept “tentative” bookings so you have priority while you make a definite decision but in saying that, please keep in mind that tentative bookings are just that and our services are only firmly secured when the booking forms and a booking deposit of $250 is received. ( a deposit of $300 is required for bookings made within 2 months of the wedding date)

Can we request any changes to our wedding DVD after we receive it?

Magic Home Movies exercises editorial discretion for the finished product. However, if changes are requested by the client after collection of the finished product a fee may be charged that MHM will determine depending on the changes to be made. Any changes need to be requested in writing within seven (7) days of collection as after this period of time your production is archived and cannot be altered.

Will your filming interfere with the proceedings in any way?

At Magic Home Movies we focus on unobtrusive, candid wedding video coverage and avoid posed shooting (unless requested). We try to remain as "unnoticed" as possible to ensure the proceedings of your wedding day unfold as naturally as possible.

Do you work with the photographer to ensure mutual cooperation?

I always try to be as accommodating as possible with your photographer to ensure you get the best results from both of us and therefore get value for your money. In saying that, when choosing your photographer, I would ask them this question as well, but most photographers are cooperative.

Do you have any video clips online that I can view? Or can we see recent samples of your work either in person or on a demo DVD?

We have recently added a Blog to our site where we will be posting some video samples. It is still new at this stage so there's only a couple on there at the moment, but keep an eye on it for more coming very soon. And yes we do have a demo DVD, simply request our free info pack and we'll post you a copy! Customers are also welcome to view more work with me in person...I am currently rennovating my home office but it should be ready to go very soon!

How many cameras do you use to film the ceremony and/or reception?

Using two cameras is standard in all of our packages. In addition to our primary camera, we use a stationary (unmanned) 3CCD handycam to film the ceremony and then use this same camera again (where possible) to film parts of the reception such as the speech's and first dance.

Do you use a lapel microphone during the ceremony?

Important moments such as the vows are often difficult to hear with even the best camera microphones as brides and grooms tend to understandably get a little nervous during this part and unless the officiant uses a microphone this can be difficult to pick up “crisply” so we always supply a lapel microphone.

What sort of extras do you offer?

We offer "Wedding Highlights" both complete and condensed. The Highlights are a compilation of the best shots from your wedding, set to music and then edited together in slow motion to really highlight those precious moments. We also offer a photo slideshow which make a lovely addition to your wedding DVD. They can include your professional wedding photography, your own photos and/or any other scannable memorabilia such as cards or even a love note to the bride on the morning of the wedding. The photos are played in a slideshow with stunning transitions and appropriate special effects whilst being played to the music of your choice. And of course if you think of anything else you would like to add, just let us know!
